Prints and Punk Among ‘Versace Superheroes’ at Milan Fashion Week

Prints and Punk Among ‘Versace Superheroes’ at Milan Fashion Week

MILAN — Versace blended prints, sharp tailoring, and punk elements in its latest collection at Milan Fashion Week, while speculation continued over a potential sale of the Italian luxury brand.

Designer Donatella Versace kicked off the autumn-winter 2025 show on Friday night at a Milan tram depot, debuting three puffy creations, including a ball gown, adorned with leopard print and the brand’s iconic house motifs. Following this, a range of sharp black trouser suits, dresses, and jackets, often featuring pointy shoulders, took the stage.

Contrasting silk printed shirts and short skirts paired with black tops or bottoms added a playful edge to the collection. For the men, these shirts were teamed with black leather trousers. Brightly-colored jackets featured triangular pockets, while slinky dresses showcased the brand’s signature evening glamour. Accessories, including studded gloves and caps, introduced a punk-inspired twist to the look.

“This is a collection of Versace Superheroes,” Donatella Versace explained. “Our house codes are recognized all over the world and make us so strong. I love clothes that empower, that give strength and confidence. Everyone should have a little Versace attitude. With this collection, I am not following any rules, only the rules of the Versace DNA.”

Meanwhile, Versace’s parent company, Capri Holdings (CPRI.N), is reportedly exploring a potential sale of the brand. Sources have suggested that fellow Italian fashion giant Prada (1913.F) is among the interested buyers and has already been granted access to Versace’s financial data. On Thursday, Miuccia Prada confirmed that numerous fashion companies have expressed interest.

Earlier this week, Renzo Rosso, the founder of Italian fashion group Only The Brave (OTB), revealed in an interview with the Italian newspaper MF that he, too, is keen on acquiring Versace.
